{"id":20736,"date":"2026-02-27T13:17:02","date_gmt":"2026-02-27T12:17:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kcoa-africa.org\/events\/growing-the-future-ypard-kenya-farmers-festival-wyna-national-cafe\/"},"modified":"2026-02-27T13:17:02","modified_gmt":"2026-02-27T12:17:02","slug":"growing-the-future-ypard-kenya-farmers-festival-wyna-national-cafe","status":"publish","type":"ajde_events","link":"https:\/\/kcoa-africa.org\/fr\/events\/growing-the-future-ypard-kenya-farmers-festival-wyna-national-cafe\/","title":{"rendered":"Growing the Future | YPARD Kenya Farmer&rsquo;s Festival &amp; WYNA National Caf\u00e9"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"margin-top: 10px;margin-bottom: 10px;, sans-serif;font-size: 16px\">In 2024,&nbsp;<strong style=\"font-weight: bold\">Young Professionals for Agricultural Development (YPARD) Kenya<\/strong>&nbsp;hosted its inaugural Farmers\u2019 Festival in partnership with local farmer-based organizations and the County Government of Kisumu.&nbsp;<strong style=\"font-weight: bold\">The success of this first convening demonstrated strong demand for youth-centered agricultural spaces that bridge skills development, innovation, policy dialogue, and community-driven action.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h5 style=\"margin-bottom: 10px;font-weight: 600;margin-top: 20px;font-size: 20px;line-height: 1.2em;, sans-serif\">Building on this momentum, YPARD through its WYNA Programme and in collaboration with YPARD Kenya and the Obwombe Enterprises, and with support from diverse stakeholders, is organizing the 2026 Farmers\u2019 Festival&nbsp;together with the WYNA National Caf\u00e9.<\/h5>\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 10px;margin-bottom: 10px;, sans-serif;font-size: 16px\">The 2026 edition of the Farmers Festival will uniquely feature the&nbsp;<strong style=\"font-weight: bold\">WYNA National Caf\u00e9&nbsp;through the Building Women &amp; Youth-led Network Alliances for Agroecology and Organic Agriculture (WYNA) Programme<\/strong>, supported by Deutsche Gesellschaft f\u00fcr Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), aims at&nbsp; strengthening women- and youth-led networks across Africa. Implemented in partnership with Young Professionals for Agricultural Development (YPARD), Participatory Ecological Land Use Management (PELUM) Kenya, African Green Store Network (AGSN), and the Knowledge Centre for Organic Agriculture and Agroecology (KCOA), the programme&nbsp;<strong style=\"font-weight: bold\">promotes<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong style=\"font-weight: bold\">agroecology and organic agriculture<\/strong>&nbsp;through capacity building, mentorship, entrepreneurship support, advocacy, and cross-network collaboration, with a strong focus on&nbsp;<strong style=\"font-weight: bold\">leadership development, green jobs, and inclusive agrifood systems transformation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The theme&nbsp;<em>\u201c<\/em><strong style=\"font-weight: bold\"><em>Growing the Future: Soil Health for Sustainable Food Systems, Agroecology &amp; AI\/Data-Driven Innovation for Youth and Community Empowerment<\/em><\/strong><em>\u201d<\/em>&nbsp;recognizes that young farmers and agripreneurs are navigating interconnected challenges including climate change, soil degradation, biodiversity loss, and limited market access.
