The dialogue is organized by by ISFAA in collaboration with Biovision Foundation, OFIMAK, Fertilizer Association of Kenya, PELUM Kenya, KOAN, TOAM, ROAM and NOGAMU.The dialogue seeks to bring together stakeholders from East Africa to review proposed reforms to the standard, share technical perspectives, discuss implications for organic fertilizer manufacturers and build regional consensus on priority reforms.

The proposed reforms follow stakeholder consultations on areas including Electrical Conductivity (EC), moisture content, hygiene requirements, cadmium levels and general requirements under Clause 4.1.

Key discussion areas will include:

1. Proposed amendments to KS EAS 1167:2024 and their rationale
2. Implications for organic fertilizer manufacturers
3. Technical perspectives from stakeholders across East Africa
4. Priority reforms and areas of regional consensus
5. Recommendations to inform the formal standards review process
