Experience & Interest :
My experience spans agricultural research, community engagement, and interdisciplinary collaboration at the intersection of agriculture, nutrition, and public health. As a Graduate Research Intern at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), I have contributed to research in soybean breeding, food safety, and nutrition, supporting efforts to improve agricultural productivity and food systems in Africa. My undergraduate studies in Agricultural Extension and Rural Sociology equipped me with a strong foundation in participatory research, rural development, agricultural innovation, and farmer-centered approaches.
Beyond research, I have actively led youth-driven initiatives that promote capacity building, knowledge exchange, and sustainable agricultural development. Through these experiences, I have developed strong skills in research, scientific communication, stakeholder engagement, project coordination, and leadership.
My interest in organic agriculture and agroecology stems from a desire to advance farming systems that are environmentally sustainable, economically viable, and socially inclusive. I am particularly interested in integrating agroecological principles with food safety, nutrition, climate resilience, and public health to build resilient agrifood systems. I believe organic and agroecological approaches offer practical pathways for restoring soil health, conserving biodiversity, reducing dependence on harmful agrochemicals, and improving the livelihoods of smallholder farmers.
Looking ahead, I aspire to contribute to research, policy, and innovation that promote sustainable food production while addressing the interconnected challenges of climate change, food insecurity, and human health. Through collaboration, evidence-based research, and community-centered solutions, I hope to support the transition toward resilient and equitable food systems in Africa and beyond.
