Multipliers Profiles

Multipliers in the context of KCOA are people, institutions and organisations that enable and amplify the dissemination and application of information or knowledge products in organic agriculture and agroecology.

Most characteristically, multipliers disseminate knowledge that is in line with the principles of organic agriculture as defined by IFOAM.

They are people, institutions and organisations that enable and amplify the dissemination and application of information or knowledge products and they do so by compiling organic and agroecological knowledge, collected and developed together with their communities and according to local needs.

Multipliers may include actors and decision makers of civil society, private sector and governmental structures, such as:

Rural Service Providers (RSPs); innovators (youth, women and men) incl. innovative farms; model farmers; trainers; extension agents; opinion leaders; champions; policy makers; development partners; organisations and entrepreneurs / private sector actors / value chain operators that provide services with respect to organic and agroecological farming / processing / marketing practices to farms and other actors along value chains; organic and agroecological agriculture training and education initiatives/institutes; farmer organisations; NGOs in service of communities (incl. faith based organisations); consumer organisations; and many more.
