Event Details

The International Women’s Day (IWD) 2026 Webinar, themed “Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls” and aligned with the global #GiveToGain campaign, will be held on 9th March 2026 (11:00 AM–13:30 PM EAT) as a virtual Zoom event. Hosted by ADS Western/PELUM Kenya in collaboration with the PELUM Kenya Network, AWOLA Country Partners, and the Knowledge Centre for Organic Agriculture and Agroecology in Africa (KCOA), the webinar will amplify women’s leadership voices, land justice, and access to knowledge in advancing agroecology and agri-food systems transformation in Africa.

The webinar will focus on three thematic pillars: Women, Land & Rights; Women’s Knowledge in Agri-food Systems; and Give To Gain in Practice through mentorship, faith leadership, and community solidarity. It will showcase AWOLA’s cross-country mentorship model, KCOA’s knowledge exchange platform that strengthens women’s agroecological enterprises, and ADS Western Kenya’s faith-based gender justice work on land rights and economic empowerment.

Through keynote reflections, grassroots testimonies, policy dialogue, and collective advocacy demands, the event aims to generate measurable commitments, document women’s voices, and strengthen partnerships. Expected outcomes include 100 live participants across five countries, over 200 public pledges, documented advocacy demands shared with policymakers, and expanded visibility for women leading agroecological transformation.

Ultimately, the webinar calls institutions and communities to move beyond symbolism toward concrete, trackable gender-responsive action in Africa’s agri-food systems.
